I am an observational astronomer, data scientist, and educator who specializes in optical spectroscopy and predictive text analytics.. More broadly I am interested in large data-set science, and researched-based student-centered pedagogies.

My work is developing an automated predictive analysis and reporting pipeline for the scoring of student responses to short answer questions.

My science interests lay in stellar population studies and accreting compact objects. I received my PhD from Michigan State University, before which I studied at Bowling Green State University and Northwestern University.
